Welcome
El Salto is located on the backside of Monterrey, Mexico. It is part of a long and narrow canyon approx 2 hours from El Potrero Chico. El Salto is a fascinating crag that mimics Thailands exotic-rock. Tufas look like Alien vertebras that shoot upward onto steep rock, stalagtites are as huge as elephants feet. El Salto is a sensitive area still in it's birthing of single and multi-pitch routes.

Accomodations: Area rent houses and cabanas located within walking distance to the crag.

Camping: Is free and Primitive in a lush pine forest.

Visit rockandice.com for topos to the Animas Wall and Tecolote Cave in El Salto.

Check out the newest issue of Rock and Ice Magazine April 15, 2003 #124 for the first written article on El Salto.
